I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.

Former two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As both boxers engaged in the usual confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually happening.
